Minimum Entry Requirements

All pilots must have either current full membership (minimum PG2 rating) or current equivalent temporary visitor membership of NZHGPA.

 All pilots must fly in accordance to NZHGPA rules.

Temporary visitor membership (cost $50 ) will be available at competition registration to pilots who have current overseas ratings equivalent to PG2 or above.

All competition pilots should make themselves familiar with the NZHGPA competition rules. These are available to be downloaded from www.nzhgpa.org.nz.

All pilots, in both competitions must fly with a UHF radio turned on and listening to the Emergency Channel as used in these competitions. It is the pilot’s responsibility to ensure that his/her radio will operate on the frequencies used in the competition. (see GPS / Radio Frequencies)  VHF radios will not be supported by competition organisers.

Reserve parachutes, altimeter, back protection and helmets will be required to be used by all pilots. Paragliding wings must have a current Warrant of Fitness in accordance with NZHGPA rules.

Entry will be on a first in first served basis

Maximum pilot numbers – -- Cross Country Open 60 pilots ------NZ Nationals  85 pilots

Cross Country Open: Entry cost $15

As well as the general requirements above each pilot must have completed a minimum of 20 hours flying time under a PG2 certificate or overseas equivalent.

For scoring flights of over 50 kms or points in the New Zealand XC league an approved 3D track log will be required. See XC rules at www.nzhgpa.org.nz. and page on supported GPS (Please note the new seasons rules have yet to be published on the NZHGPA web site) 

New Zealand Nationals: Entry cost $90 ($120 if paid after 1 November 2008)

As well as the general requirements above each pilot must have:

- FAI registration (If not held then this can be arranged at time of registration- cost $20)

- a supported GPS. (PLEASE NOTE only 3D track logs now accepted for scoring)-

- previously completed a minimum of 40 hours flying time under a PG2 certificate or overseas equivalent.

Please Note -  the organizers may refuse an entry based on safety issues. The Rules under which the competitions are conducted are those published by the NZHGPA (see www.nzhgpa.org.nz ) and as modified by this web site and instructions from the Competition Director. (The new seasons rules have yet to be published on the NZHGPA web site)
